Is there a way to make a Dovetail joint without power tools?

Posted on June 19th, 2010 by admin

I want to make a box using dovetail joints, but i don’t have the right power tools. Can i do it by hand(non powertools)?

saw, chisel, mallet, ruler, should be all you need to do it the old fashioned way.
read up on it, check for articles by Frank Klautz on dovetailing.

What is the best cleaner and/or lubricant for power tools?

Posted on June 16th, 2010 by admin

What do you use to polish/coat the top of a table saw? What kind of cleaner and lubricant should I use for cordless and/or corded power tools? What’s the best way to restore aged or tarnished metal? The manuals and people I have asked refer to a "mild solution" for cleaning, please expand on this and maybe suggest what types of chemicals would deliver the strongest and best results.

For the table saw, you can wax with a common, NON SILICONE, furniture wax such as Johnson’s or Minwax. Let it haze, then buff off, just like waxing a car. Don’t use car wax. You can get a special compound called BoeShield, but I’ve never seen the need for it.

You can do similar for the shoes of portable power tools and beds and fences of jointers and planers.

For general cleaning, just a soft cloth, brush, or air gun. If there is oily residue on the surfaces, you can dampen the rag in naphtha. For non-oily soling, just a cloth dampened in Dawn and water, but I’ve never seen the need for this much cleaning?

To restore tarnished / rusted metal such as old planes and chisels, buff with 0000 steel wool or fine wet-dry sandpaper, lubricated with WD-40 or mineral spirits. Wipe of the swarf with a clean rag.

Power Tools Radio Mix Show – Circa 1993 Oldskool Techno & Early Hardcore/Gabber by Louis Love

Posted on June 14th, 2010 by admin

2:39 Sequential One – Dance 1993 Rough Mix Records
-Germany-

4:16 Desperation – Our Reservation ( Anyone knows this remix???) I have the one on Sonic Records 1993 but this one is different.
– Belgium-

L.A.’s underground radio mix show since 1992 on Power 106FM KPWR Los Angeles. The ruffest & hardest sound to ever hit Power Tools. If I had a Delorean, I’d travel back in time to 1992 and re-live these years again.
More to come as I go through my personal cassette radio recording collection from back in the day.

Dewalt Battery Cheat, part 3, 17 Dec 2008 002.avi

Posted on May 19th, 2010 by admin

I am using the 24 volt NATO outlet to power my 18 volt Dewalt cordless power tools. Previous videos showed me using one 12 volt car battery to power Dewalt cordless tools but the voltage was insufficient so I went to the 24 volt application accordingly. Let’s face it, Dewalt makes outstanding cordless tools but inferior battery packs that just don’t last and are outragious to purchase ($89.00 each over at Home Depot). With this application you can use any household or contractor extension cord to route the power from the source to your job site. I made the female plug adaptor from an old NATO jumper cable end that I replaced with a new part that I bought on Ebay. It got to the point where I had only one useable 18 volt battery left to power all of my Dewalt tools and eventually that bit the dust too. I just could not see spending almost $100.00 for one new 18 volt replacement battery so, as they say, “Necessity is the mother of invention”. Not everyone has a military truck to use so you can accomplish the same results by hooking two 12 volt batteries in series. There are even A/C transformers that put out 18-24 volts that can also be used to circumvent the need for a Dewalt battery for your tools. Next I will show you how to use Riobi 18 volt batteries to power your dewalt cordless power tools.

Xbox 360 2 Red Light Fix

Posted on May 14th, 2010 by admin

A Free fix for Xbox 360 when 2 Flashing lights pop up. Microsoft says Xbox is overheating and asks for $99 dollars and to send it in for repair. The method I have proposed is a simple (free) fix that seems to work wonders and saves the money. Simply use an air compressor to clean the Xbox of all of it internal dust that blocks air intake without even opening the Xbox. Now obviously if you don’t have access to an air compressor you’ll need to improvise because air compressors in general are very expensive. If you do have access to an air compressor this process should fix your problem if it is related to dust.**Update** (10/25/09) This appears to be a full fix, my Xbox continues to work great no over heating what so ever after hours of play. A lot of people are confused at to what an air compressor is. I am not referring to compressed air I am talking about an air compressor with spray nozzle. I will post a link here of exactly what I am talking about.
The Spray Tool I Used:

A Very Similar Model to The Air Compressor I Used

Some of you have asked how they can thank me for this fix, I usually say a good rating and a comment, but for some of you that would like to do more I will take a donation via paypal thru Mickaroo7@aol.com. Thank You.
