This video explains how to make a simple drill starter for your small engine. All you need is a bolt a socket and a drill. In the video, I am testing it on my Briggs and Stratton Model FH.

    But adapters are a little thick to fit in a drill chuck, so a bolt is actually a much better idea. And cheaper than wasting an adapter.

    You can improvise chuck key by using a round rod (grind down a bolt) that fits into the hole of the chuck then use a flat screwdriver, leveraged against the rod to pull the teeth of the chuck.

    cool! ill have to try that! and what do you mean those kick startes use to much energy? you just get the engine rocking back and forth a couple times and givit one good firm kick! thats all ido! i have started it by hand a few times! my old fh! i find it easier to start than my maytag twin
