I’m trying the gouge you are holding at 5:33.
But I think I worked my way through that problem by doing a circular motion with one of the more precise tools, which results in a gouge-type action.

I’ve been watching your mask-making series, and this is REALLY cool, sir.
I’m making my own mask right now, and this has been really helpful. I found that I have a lot of excess wood on top of mine, so I’ve been trying my gouge, but it doesn’t seem to be working =/
I’m sure it probably just needs to be sharpened. It’s old.
But really, VERY neat, sir.
