Customer Complaint = Check engine light On, Vehicle does not shift properly, code P1762 stored in memory

Procedure:

1. Check the voltage of the governor pressure sensor with the Key On Engine Off (KOEO). It should be about 0.5 volts.

2. If higher than 0.8 volts, check the transmission temperature sensor reading.

3. If it is not accurate, check the sensor ground to the governor pressure/transmission temperature sensor.

4. If the transmission temperature sensor is reading correctly, replace the governor pressure sensor.

Evaporative Line
Gas Cap
Purge Solenoid
Vent Control Solenoid

Confirmed Fix:

1 – Governor Pressure Sensor
1 – Transmission
1 – Transmission Fluid

Procedure:

1. Test wiring at the sensor connector:

A. Pin 1 (Red/White wire) should have battery voltage with ignition on.

B. Pin 2 (Yellow) should have 5V from engine control module.

C. Pin 3 (Brown) is a ground.

2. As the cam turns, the 5V reference on pin 2 should switch on and off (5V square-wave digital signal).

Potential Causes:

Defective Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP)
Wiring

3 – Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP)
2 – Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor
1 – Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor

The Check Engine Light (CEL) is on with a trouble code P1135. The code indicates that there is a problem with the ban 1 sensor 1 Air/Fuel (A/F) ratio sensor.

Test/ Procedures:
1. First Verify that the resistance specification for the heater circuit are 0.8 to 1.4 ohms at 68 degrees and 1.8 to 3.2 ohms at 1400 degrees.

2. If the resistance at the heater circuit is OK, verify that there is a good battery voltage to the sensor and the resistance is correct.

3. Next, check for the correct current flow on the circuit. It needs to draw more than 0.25 amps and less than 8 amps when the Oxygen sensor heater is grounded.

Air Fuel Ratio Sensor
Connection
Fuse
